March 25, 2021: Vaccine Nation: Return to Work and Employer Obligations

Title: Vaccine Nation: Return to Work and Employer Obligations
Summary: As COVID-19 vaccines become more widely available, employers must be educated on how to re-open safely while also protecting everyone’s rights.  Employers must consider whether they can require employees to be vaccinated, and whether they should require employees to be vaccinated.  These decisions are based on a cross-section of laws addressing disability discrimination, medical leave, and workplace safety.

Speaker: Jeff Siegel, a partner at Morgan, Brown, & Joy (https://www.morganbrown.com/attorney/jeffrey-s-siegel/).  Jeff advises and represents employers of all sizes on all aspects of labor and employment law. Most recently his practice has focused on advising clients on the employment aspects of COVID-19 – including furloughs, employee pay issues, employee leaves of absence under new and existing laws, day-to-day human resources matters, and return to work obligations.

February 25, 2021: Managing Workload

Title: Managing Workload
Description:

The pandemic, move to remote work, and dependent care challenges bring issues of workload to the forefront.  We complain about having too much to do in too little time but rarely do we make a concerted effort to identify and address root causes.  It’s not just a case of staffing capacity.  Often, individual behaviors and organizational culture push folks to take on more and more with expectations of immediacy.  In this session, we will discuss strategies at the individual, supervisory, and organizational levels.  We’ll also model and talk about what that process for tackling workload might look like within your organization.

This session will be facilitated by Gordon Gottlieb, Human Resources Consultant at TDC, who’s work focuses on the evolving human resource and board development needs of small to medium sized nonprofit organizations throughout New England.  Gordon is an annual presenter at the NPFM.

Join Rick Lowe and Elizabeth Geary as they present an overview of the current Boston real estate market and anticipated trends over the next few years. Rick and Elizabeth will also discuss options for tenants with leases expiring in the next few years, those with excess space or who wish to terminate leases, and those who were forced out of the Boston market over the last several years but are looking to return.
